Regional Band & Orchestra selects Hutson & Fine
Congratulations to Stephen Hutson and Rebekah Fine for being selected to the
Regional Band and Orchestra.  The North Pointe Band students were among
several hundred who auditioned for the Southwest Regional Solo and Ensemble
Festival at Maryvale High.
Hutson, a sophomore, received the highest rating of
Superior on his four-mallet marimba solo and was
placed at 1st chair percussion in the band. Fine, a
junior, was chosen 5th chair horn in the orchestra.

Students from 38 high schools, ranging from 2A to
5A, competed for positions in the Southwest
Regional Band, Orchestra, and Choir.

There are a total of seven regions in Arizona.  North
Pointe students faced tough competition from schools such as Mountain Ridge, Deer
Valley, Dobson, Chandler, and McClintock.

Hutson and Fine performed at the Band and Regional Concert  and will be eligible to
audition for the All State Festival later this the year.
