The physics students got their first taste of a lab when they were
assigned a simple task - build a tower.  The concept is a familiar one, but
to add a twist, the only supplies they could use were a single sheet of
paper and 1 foot of tape.  

While many perplexed students looked at their instructor, Mr.
Leonardi,like he was crazy, they nonetheless threw themselves into the
task with enthusiasm (and a promise of extra credit to the most
successful teams to add some incentive!)

Over the course of each period, the students first built some prototypes,

using trial and error to determine the best way to proceed.  Many of thewould-be architects got heavily into the
competition and the design secrets of each tower were closely guarded from competitors.  

At the end of the day when the dust settled, the tallest tower reached an impressive height of 144 cm (4.5 feet!) and
was constructed by the team of Jesse Acuna, Bret Lupe, and James Goshow.
Privacy Policy
As a general rule, preptv does not post the last name of elementary students while identifying their participation in a school activity or promoting their accomplishment in Knowledge, Character,
and Leadership.  Likewise preptv does not include any reference to a student in a posted jpeg or mpeg image file name.  These precautions should eliminate parental concerns about a child being
identified as the result of an Internet search.  However, in the event that a parent is uncomfortable with a posted text or image, preptv will remove the text or image upon notification.
