North Pointe is going retro for Spirit Week 2007 with an Old
School theme that features outfits from the past, class
competitions from recess, and special evening events all week.
The six day extravaganza, September 17th-22nd, will be full of
crazy outfits and hair from years past, dodge ball and red light
green light games, and evening events that include powder puff
football, float building, an alumni dinner and the Homecoming
volleyball and football games and dance.
As always, you can count on preptv to collect and share this
year's 'Old School' memories. Each night photos and videos of
that days events will be posted.
We've made it real simple with
regards to your Spirit Week attire by
selecting a different decade for
each day.
Monday - the 50's
Tuesday - the 60's
Wednesday - the 70's
Thursday - the 80's
Be an individual and make a loud
statement all on your own with an
outrageous outfit and hair-do each
day or join with some friends and
dress alike.
If you want to go all out, choose a
sub-theme of your own. Maybe each
day your attire will feature your
favorites from that decade - favorite
band, movie, actor, etc.
Then of course, on Friday, we will all
dress in purple and black with paint
and dye and anything else that
makes your spirit stand apart from
everyone else.
Don't worry that you may not know
how to play the games at each day's
assembly in the Nest. We've gone
Old School with games you used to
play during recess.
Monday - Dodge Ball
Tuesday - Sock Ball
Wednesday - Kick Ball
Thursday - Relays and Stuff
Not for the timid or fragile, the week
begins on Monday with dodge ball
class competition. Then, it's on to
sock ball - remember rainy days
playing nerf soccer without shoes.
Wednesday's class competition is
one of the all time favorites of any
kid on the playground - kick ball.
Let's not forget all of those relays
and stuff like red light green light,
simon says, and tug-a-war.
Friday? An Old School Pep Rally to
pump us up for another victory!
If the day time stuff wasn't enough,
here are the night time events.
Monday - Powder Puff Football
The annual Junior/Senior Girls
Powder Puff Football Game was
moved from lunch to night time and
from the campus to the Prep's
Varsity Football Practice Facility on
the campus of Canyon Pointe
Academy. It was physical, but the
Juniors proved to just be too much
for the Seniors. The Class of 2009
won 23-0.
Tues/Wed - Float Building
Another twist for this year - all of the
floats will be built on campus. High
School students will begin working
on their floats at 3:00 pm on
Tuesday and continue working
through 9:00 pm Wednesday night.
The Prep Café will be open each
night for food and drinks.
Thursday - Volleyball Game
We will need to pack the Nest to
support our Lady Falcons as they
take on one of the best teams in the
State, Northwest Christian. The
Varsity game begins at 5:15 pm.
Thursday - Alumni Dinner
North Pointe graduates will gather in
the Prep Café for a special Alumni
Dinner at 6:30 pm.
Friday - Homecoming Game
The traditional homecoming football
game is against Williams High
School at 7:00 pm on the campus of
Northwest Christian. The tailgate
party begins at 5:30 pm (burgers,
dogs and stuff can be purchased).
Halftime will feature the crowning of
the Homecoming King and Queen.
