Students present talents at Coffee House Night
North Pointe's Chapter of the International Thespian Society
sponsored their third annual Coffee House Night at the Prep.
The evening was a variety-show designed to raise funds for
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. “We feel it is important to
use our talents to benefit the community,” said Ms. Stone, the
Prep's Theatre Director and sponsor of the event.
The evening was the most successful CHN to date, “we had a
record number of food donations from a variety of businesses
and individuals," continued Ms. Stone. "We had some wonderful
performances, a raffle and—most importantly—we raised nearly
$500! We couldn’t be more pleased.”
Coffee House Night is a North Pointe tradition that begun three
years ago as a talent showcase as well as a charity event.

theatres - from amateur to professional - participate in," said Ms. Stone. “We knew we wanted to do a kind of talent
show, but we wanted an event that was more substantial and not simply self-serving. We looked at a few charities
and decided that partnering with other theatres to raise awareness and support for those suffering from HIV/AIDS
was a worthy cause.”
Coffee House Night promotes student achievement in traditional, electronic, and performing arts. "There are so
many students with so many different talents and this is the perfect forum to showcase them.”
