AcaDeca places 4th at Regionals
North Pointe's Academic
Decathlon Team placed fourth at
the 1A-3A Regionals and finished
second among 2A schools.
The Prep also ended the
tournament ranked 8th in the
State among all 1A-5A schools.
The Falcons won team trophies
for finishing 2nd place in the
Super Quiz Relay and 3rd place in
the Super Quiz.
North Pointe also took home 24
individual medals. Luke Malin won
8 medals and placed as the 3rd
highest scoring student at the
entire competition.
The Prep placed 31st out of the 40
schools at North Pointe's first
appearance at the 1A-5A AcaDeca
Sate Tournament. "We ended up
beating six 5A schools," said Head
Coach Troy Ward. "I'm just so happy
we weren't in the very bottom. We
finished as the number two 2A school
in the State so we maintain our title as
second in our division of schools, right
behind St. Johns in the state of Arizona.
Luke Malin was most impressive as
usual. He won a bronze medal in Super
Quiz and finished as the 13th highest
scoring student at the tournament out of
480 students. For the Super Quiz
competition itself (which Matt came
and took pictures for) we placed 14th
out of the 40 schools.
