North Pointe's Speech Team (Advanced Speech class)
left their audience wanting more as they performed on
at the Winter Arts Festival to a standing ovation.
The showcase featured Celeste Ulloa and Sara
DeNorch presenting their first place enactment of
“Stripes” and the current 1-3A State Champion in
Drama, Katie Komos, performing a Storytelling piece
“Simply Delicious”.
Some of the evening’s special highlights included Jon
Burgmeier and Kaylinn Crowl performing “The
Sneeches” by Dr. Seuss. An audience favorite, Mallory
Johnson, performed a humorous piece “The Magic
Tree House” which left the entire theater laughing
hysterically. This was followed by a powerful and heart
tugging rendition of C.J. Komos and James Teeples’
“Of Mice and Men”. Capping the entire showcase was
the always popular Frankie Marchi with his side
splitting “Alumni Girls”.
The Winter Arts Festival's performance of the award
winning team highlighted an already extremely
successful season which has landed them a current
ranking of 8th in the entire state of Arizona 1A-5A. “It
was a one-two punch," said Principal Gow. "One
performance would leave you on the edge of your seat
and then another would start and draw you in
completely.”
