"What a season," said Coach Leonardi. "I don’t have words for how proud I am of my
nine hard working girls. They put everything out there this season, and we
accomplished things North Pointe has never accomplished before." The Lady
Falcons advanced to the playoffs for the first time and finished the regular season
with more wins than previous seasons.

The Prep's Joseph Tabor and Bryce Harris were named to the Arizona Republic's 2A
Football All-State Team. This is the first time a North Pointe Athlete has received this
award. Tabor, a Senior, made 2nd Team as a kicker and Harris, a Junior, made
Honorable Mention as a Defensive Back.
Cross Country    Roster    Meet Summaries
Senior Kristi Hayes placed 49 out of 95 runners in the 2A Cross Country State Meet.
"It was really hard, the first mile was all hills," said Kristi after crossing the finish line.  
"We are so proud of her and proud that she represented us here at State," said
Coach Heidi Anderson.

After a very successful Football season, the Varsity Cheerline regrouped for the
Basketball season and joined the Hoops Central Dance Crew to create energy at
Varsity home basketball games.

Senior night at Hoops Central was on fire just like the Senior boys. All five Seniors for
the Falcons scored in what was their final game of the season.  Jake Gray had a
double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Michael Carnicle had 10 points
and 7 rebounds.  The other seniors who scored were Gianni Vaiente with 5 points.,
Justin Knight with 7 points., and Theo Lugo added 2 points.

In only their first season of Soccer, the Falcons had an amazing season and
advanced to the first round of the playoffs. Their 7-3 league play brought several
State top 10 rankings during the season.
Competition Cheer   Roster    Tournament Summaries
For the third straight year, the Prep's Competition Cheer Team won the AIA 1A-3A
State Championship in the coed cheer division. "As soon as our routine was over I
knew we won," said Coach Erin Idczak. The Tim's Toyota Center crowd also
appreciated the Falcon's routine and erupted into a huge applause as the team hit a
perfect pyramid for their third title.

The Lady Falcons did not start off well against ALA, losing their starting pitcher after
the first inning and getting behind early. They made a valiant effort in the last inning,
but came up short. Freshman shortstop Colline Gallagher led the team in batting with
a single, a triple, and one walk (scoring 3 times herself and driving in a 4th) .

North Pointe fell in the season opener to Tonopah 9- 5 after a slow start. The
Falcons battled back in the 6th and 7th innings but it wasn’t enough to come back
from the large deficit. Black Stine had 5 strikeouts and was relieved by Alan Garcia,
and Jake Effron. Sophomore Garcia was consistent at bat going 4-4 with 2 RBI.
Freshmen Wes Metzendorf had an excellent game at bat with 2 singles and 1 RBI.
Track & Field    Roster    Schedule/Meet Summaries
Senior Justin Knight placed first in the 100m dash at Valley Christian's season
opening track meet and the Prep's Track & Field team broke 16 school records. “The
future is bright for Prep Track & Field," said Coach Kane Wilson. "We are committed
to tapping into athletic potential and getting athletes out of their comfort zone! That's
our expectation for this year - we just didn't expect it right out of the gates."

At the conclusion of a Varsity Season, full resolution pictures will be available on DVD through the Athletic Department.

JV Boys Volleyball    Roster    Schedule/Game Summaries    Statistics
The Falcon Boy’s Volleyball team started out strong against Combs, winning the first
set 25-14, but couldn’t keep the momentum and lost the final two sets. Froilan
Maldonado and Fadi Sayegh lead the team with solid sets, while Corey McKinney
scored points with several well-placed hits and tips.  Brandon McKinney again helped
out with his powerful serves.
