Cheer & Tumbling
Students will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading and tumbling.

Dance
This class offers contemporary and hip-hop dance. Students will learn to choreograph dances in groups and
individually. Performances in class weekly and several performances’ at basketball games and prep assemblies.

Boys Fitness
The fitness class is designed to expose the students to a variety of fitness components, such as cardiovascular
endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, weight training, and understanding and maintaining a healthy
lifestyle.

Girls Fitness
The fitness class is designed to expose the students to a variety of fitness components, such as cardiovascular
endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, weight training, and understanding and maintaining a healthy
lifestyle.

Health and Nutrition
The course is designed to help the student develop health and nutrition concepts which are meaningful and relevant
to the personal and social needs of our times. Basic skills, such as communication, goal-setting, decision-making,
refusal skills and stress management are covered. Topics covered are: mental and social health, human anatomy,
nutrition, alcohol and other drugs, communicable diseases, personal safety and first aid, consumer health, and
environmental health. It is hoped that students can make wise decisions due to increased knowledge about health
issues.

Weight Lifting
This course is designed to expose students to a variety of fitness components such as the use of barbells,
dumbbells, machines, and body weight resistance. The class will incorporate cardiovascular endurance, muscular
endurance, and understanding and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Advanced Weight Lifting
This course is designed to enhance maximum lifting ability. Students must be willing to go beyond their comfort zone,
be open to teacher/student assistance, partner training, and eager to follow specific weight lifting programs. This
class is designed to enhance strength, improve performance, prevent injury, improve speed and explosiveness, and
individually promote one’s physical quality.

Prerequisite: Weight Lifting or Instructor Approval
