Graduation - A new journey begins

Family, friends and alumni packed the historic Celebrity Theatre and celebrated North Pointe's Class of 2017 Wednesday night. The evening began with each graduate entering the circular venue from the tunnel and then featured an original song by Becky Heller who was joined on stage by dancers Kenny Hunley, Tatiana Mason, Mikayla Shepherd and David Ocasio. The host of preptv's 8:02 Live show Alexis Limon presented some very hilarious 'then and now' photos of the graduates comparing their 7th grade look with their Senior portrait. After a slide show highlighting the Class of 2017's journey from kindergarten through this year, Belen Markus and Justin Evans entertained the audience with a monologue highlighting the memorable events over the past six years. Prior to receiving their diploma, from Pointe Schools Superintendent Dr. Jody Johnson, a personal video was played of each graduate.
