Watch the 8:02 Live show

preptv is North Pointe's communication platform and designed to promote campus life and communicate student achievement in academics, athletics and the arts. In addition to posting hundreds of videos each school year, preptv broadcasts a 8:02 Live show each school day throughout the campus. The complete show is also available via live stream and is posted into segments on the home page.

A new journey begins

Family, friends and alumni packed the historic Celebrity Theatre and celebrated North Pointe's Class of 2017 Wednesday night. The evening began with each graduate entering the circular venue from the tunnel and then featured an original song by Becky Heller who was joined on stage by dancers Kenny Hunley, Tatiana Mason, Mikayla Shepherd and David Ocasio. The host of preptv's 8:02 Live show Alexis Limon presented some very hilarious 'then and now' photos of the graduates comparing their 7th grade look with their Senior portrait. After a slide show highlighting the Class of 2017's journey from kindergarten through this year, Belen Markus and Justin Evans entertained the audience with a monologue highlighting the memorable events over the past six years. Prior to receiving their diploma, from Pointe Schools Superintendent Dr. Jody Johnson, a personal video was played of each graduate.

Addams Family Musical

Under the outstanding direction of Senior Belen Markus, North Pointe's High School Falcon Players presented four amazingly funny and entertaining Addams Family Musical shows. Although the official broadway script had very specific protocols, Belen and Dance Choreographer Cara Dabkowski gave the musical a North Pointe flavor with dance routines and comedic vignettes. "Not only did Belen do a fabulous job selecting and preparing the cast, she designed the entire set," said Principal Smailagic. "She has truly been an inspiration to all of us."

Class Competitions

A packed Rock Lobster stadium and a record live-stream audience watched Senior Belen Markus win the 10th Annual Belly Flop Competition. Belen replaced last year's champion, Ethan Conroy (injured during the Bikini Race Competition), by defeating Kenny Hunley during the 8:02 Live show Friday morning. The win was only the second time a female has won the event. Prior to the Belly Flop Competition, Ms. Goodman's seventh period class was crowned the JH Overall Champion and the Seniors received the HS Overall Champion trophy. Members of the faculty and safety team also belly flopped to the roars of the crowd.
