Lead Stories


Kaitlyn Kief and Natalie Quintero took first place at the Speech and Debate State Tournament in Flagstaff. Kaitlyn won her title in Poetry Interpretation and Natalie won Dramatic Interpretation. Kaitlyn earned a second state medal by placing 3nrdin Dramatic Interpretation. Julian Alejandre was a triple medalist placing 3rd in Congressional Debate, 3rd in Humorous Interpretation and 3rd in Programmed Oral Interpretation. Adalila Machic-Huitzil placed 3rd in Congressional Debate and 6th in Impromptu Speaking.

The Sophomores won Day Four's Legball and the Overall Xtreme Intramurals Championship. Scott's 7th period class won the Jr. High competition. In addition to the lunchtime class competitions, the week also included  Jr. High and High School Dances as well as the annual Faculty Finale.

North Pointe's original, A Monster Christmas, has become the most watched theatrical performance at North Pointe. From the horse-drawn carriage entrance to the fireworks ending, audience members packed into the outdoor plaza theatre all week for the showing of North Pointe's original production of the classic, A Christmas Carol. This year's genre of the story of Scrooge was Monsters.

North Pointe's High School and Jr. High Dance classes showcased the Fall Arts Festival putting on an amazing performance in a packed Nest. The week long festival highlighted North Pointe's performing arts classes and featured, in addition to the dance classes, the JH Theatre classes, the HS and JH Guitar and Piano classes, the HS and JH Choirs, and the HS and JH Band and Percussion classes.

Activity Stories

The Class of 2018 won the second of the four class competition weeks by capturing the Reality Showcase Championship. The Seniors took first in Best Dance and Best Lip Sync and second in Best Talent and Best Voice. The two remaining Class Completion Weeks are Xtreme Intramurals (week of Feb. 26th) and Rock Lobster Games (week of April 16th).

The Class of 2018 spent their thirty8forty trip in Zion National Park. The trip is the second of the Seniors three trips this year. The first was to Sedona back in August for the annual Class Picture against the backdrop of Slide Rock. In May, the Seniors will head to Southern California for Club Prep.

North Pointe's athletic team and arts groups participate in a Prep Cares community service project each season.

North Pointe's Seniors lead Jr. High Station Recap small groups each Wednesday and host Jr. High events. North Pointe's Juniors are involved in mentoring programs with Canyon Pointe and Pinnacle Pointe 5th-6th graders.

The Class of 2018 will be celebrated during North Pointe's graduation at the Celebrity Theatre on May 23, 2018. The event will feature images highlighting the school year as well as individual graduate videos. Tickets are required. Graduates arrive at 5:30 pm. Doors open at 6:15 pm. Celebration starts at 7 pm.
